Redesign of the software to facilitate management of the justification procedures for European R&D grants
Initial challenge
This project was born from the need of Sploro of redesigning its SaaS to help its clients plan, report and analyse their European projects faster and more fluidly.
Goodbye time-consuming paperwork
Exploration
I joined the software development team of Sploro, an innovation startup located in Navarre.
I carried out the heuristic analysis of the current software to identify problems and improvements to be made. I also developed the navigation and user flow diagrams adapted to the needs of the project. Through these processes I defined the system requirements together with the team.
HEURISTIC ANALYSIS • USER FLOWS • REQUIREMENTS DEFINITION
Heuristic analysis
Is it consistent? Does it notify errors? Does it prevent errors? Does it match the real world?
User flow definition
Which usage options does the application currently offer?
And ideally?
Requirements definition
What can be seen, edited, created, deleted?
Collaborative design
I worked closely together with a team of 3 developers, being the only in-house designer in the team.
The main challenge was prioritising the previously detected points of improvement based on difficulty, development time and their global impact.
Another critical point was the transmission of the ideas to the business managers and the following Handoff to development.
I was involved in the first steps concerning the layout of the designs in code and then handed it over to the developers for the more complex front-end functionalities.
From the redesign to the implementation in code, I worked in particular on the initial Sign up, Setup and Onboarding processes at the platform, focusing mainly on the Empty States. And I also contributed to redesigning the sections related to expense reporting (Expense Sheets, Expense Items & Travels).
